The Migration and Citizenship Section of the American Political Science Association has selected Dr. Stephanie Schwartz's dissertation, "Homeward Bound: Return Migration and Local Conflict after Civil War," for its 2019 Dissertation Award, recognizing the best dissertation on migration and/or citizenship presented in the previous calendar year.
Dr. Schwartz received the Ph.D. in 2018 and held a postdoctoral research fellowship at Perry World House at the University of Pennsylvania in the 2018-19 academic year. In fall 2019 she begins an appointment as Assistant Professor of International Relations at the School of International Relations at the University of Southern California.
