The American Association for Public Opinion Research has honored Professor Robert Y. Shapiro with the 2022 AAPOR Award for Exceptionally Distinguished Achievement.
In announcing the award, the AAPOR cited the breadth and global impact of Professor Shapiro's scholarship illustrating the ties between public opinion and public policy, politicians, and the media; his advocacy and service to the institutions that support and improve public opinion and survey research; and his generous mentorship to generations of students, particularly those from underrepresented groups.
