Arthur Hoefliger
Arthur Hoefliger is a Master’s candidate in Political Science at Columbia University, where he graduated from Columbia College with dual majors in Economics and Political Science. He is an Institute of Global Politics (IGP) Student Scholar and chair of the Pritzker-Pucker Trailblazer Fellowship at Columbia, having received the fellowship in 2023 for work on congressional policy at an education-focused non-profit. Arthur’s work centers on the intersection of national security, energy geopolitics, and counterterrorism, with a regional focus on the Middle East.
In successive roles at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), Arthur supported the Development and Studies departments, contributing to the Council’s research proposals and institutional advancement. He previously held policy and finance roles at the Giffords Law Center for Gun Violence Prevention, Statecraft Equity Partners, and Innovation Capital. Arthur also served as a political economy research assistant in Columbia’s Department of Economics, contributing to research analyzing the political effects of COVID-19 on local elections.
At Columbia, Arthur serves as President of United Nations Columbia, having previously served as Treasurer, and represents the Middle East and North Africa for Columbia Academics in Foreign Affairs (CAFA). He is a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), CFR’s Young Professionals Briefing Series, and the United Nations Foundation.
