Sophia Bongiovi is a master’s student in Political Science at Columbia University and serves as Vice President of Communications for Columbia’s Graduate School Student Government. Her academic interests include crisis and conflict in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and Central Asia, international development, nuclear proliferation and deterrence, and comparative global policy.
Prior to attending Columbia, she earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in Government Studies from the University of Texas at Austin and a certificate in U.S. Public, Economic, and Foreign Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.
Her previous international and professional experience includes serving as a judicial intern with Texas’s highest criminal court, working as a Curation Chair for TEDx, and serving as a project director for international crisis management fundraising with Project HOPE.
