Emily Markowitz is a Ph.D. student in political science, focusing on comparative politics. Her research interests include comparative political economy, political party competition, democratic backsliding, and political polarization.
Ms. Markowitz earned a B.A. in social studies with highest honors from Harvard College in 2021, where she wrote her thesis on innovations in political party competition. Before beginning graduate study, she worked in management consulting and as a researcher at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, focusing on monetary policy implementation. She has also published research on Federal Reserve history in economic journals.
