Nathan Lesch

Nathan Lesch is a third-year Ph.D. student in the department of political science specializing in American political institutions. His research interests include American political development, federalism, state and local politics, and the judiciary. He uses both formal modeling and quantitative methods in his research.

Mr. Lesch earned his bachelor’s degree from Case Western Reserve University, where he studied economics, political science, and environmental studies, with minors in mathematics, history, English, and public policy. He later received an M.P.P. from Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy. Before joining Columbia, he lived in Washington, D.C., and worked in international development.
