Abhyudaya Tyagi (Abhu) is a Ph.D. candidate in the department of political science, specializing in comparative politics. His research interests focus on socioeconomic inequality, political violence, and democratic backsliding in South Asia.
Mr. Tyagi’s dissertation investigates the sources of elite persistence in democracies and the strategies economic elites employ to maintain political power within electoral systems. His additional research includes projects and collaborations on the categorization of political violence, efforts to reduce misinformation, and the broader consequences of political violence.
