Samantha Mussell is a Ph.D. student in political science, specializing in international relations with a focus on international political economy. Her research examines how firms respond to and shape political environments, with particular attention to the dynamics of firms in states experiencing democratic backsliding and the role of multinational corporations in influencing domestic institutions. She is also interested in how international organizations and economic sanctions structure the relationship between states and global markets.
Ms. Mussell earned a B.A. in political science with distinction from the University of Texas at Dallas, where she received the Eugene McDermott Research Award and the Government and Political Science Scholars Award.
