Gilbert Junbo Lai is a Ph.D. student in political science at Columbia University studying international relations (IR). He is interested in IR theory and power shifts.
Prior to enrolling at Columbia, Mr. Lai received a B.A. in world history from Lanzhou University in 2020 and an M.A. in international relations from the University of Chicago in 2021. He was also a visiting student at the University of California, Berkeley in 2019.
