Disha Ghatak is a first-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Political Science. Her research interests lie in the political economy of socio-economic and other group-based inequalities, and the politics of welfare and state capacity. She is also interested in sub-national politics, primarily social policy-making and implementation in developing countries with decentralized systems.
Ms. Ghatak graduated with a B.A. in economics from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, in 2021. She received her M.A. in political economy from the University of Essex, Colchester, United Kingdom, in 2023.
