Biography

Colleen Larkin is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Political Science at Columbia University, specializing in international relations. Her research interests include strategic narratives, nuclear strategy, arms control, and US foreign policy. Her dissertation examines the emergence of strategic narratives after upheavals in the international system that challenge states’ grand strategy. Its case studies focus on the evolution of narratives about nuclear weapons and their influence on nuclear strategy. In 2021-2022, she was a Hans J. Morgenthau fellow in Grand Strategy at the University of Notre Dame. Prior to enrolling at Columbia, Ms. Larkin graduated summa cum laude from Wellesley College with degrees in political science and mathematics.
