Keynote speakers include the Honorable Wilmot James, Larry Stanberry, MD Ian Lipkin, MD and the Honorable Andrew Weber among others.
The Zika Virus and its associated consequences remain a significant and enduring public health challenge. Clinical research has demonstrated the link between the Zika Virus infection and microcephaly but much more vigorous discovery work is required. The coordination and response to the Zika Virus must become a sustained program of effort with dedicated resources focused on the long-term nature of the disease and its consequences.
Pursuing the health security of nations requires diplomacy between nations, and the public understanding that, in the era of global health. With the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) in place, is the world better able to detect, prevent, care, support, research and strengthen our capabilities to effectively deal with infectious diseases.
