Research Interest

Yasmin Leach is an M.A. candidate in Political Science specializing in International Relations. Her scholarship focuses on international law, diplomacy, global governance, and peace and security. Before pursuing graduate studies at Columbia University, she earned a B.A. with distinction in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of Toronto, where she was also selected for the Trinity One Ethics, Society, and Law Program.

Her recent experience includes working as a researcher for the Yazidi Outreach Platform, an international human rights initiative in partnership with Yazda, an NGO dedicated to advocating for the Yazidi community. Yasmin’s research focused on the Yazidi genocide and the pursuit of justice through universal jurisdiction and atrocity crime prosecutions worldwide.

Ms. Leach is committed to advancing justice, peace, and security through her studies and a career in international relations and international law.
