Omeet Atara is an MA student in political science, specializing in comparative politics. His research primarily focuses on the politics of music, and in particular how music can be an emancipatory force. In addition, he explores how young people utilize music as a form of protest and political communication. His regional interest lies predominantly in Sub-Saharan Africa, with a particular focus on Tanzanian politics.
Mr. Atara holds a BA (Hons) from Cambridge University, where he studied Human, Social, and Political Sciences. His undergraduate thesis examined how young people in Tanzania have used music as a form of alternative political expression.
