Norashiqin Toh is a PhD candidate in political science, focusing on international relations and comparative politics. She studies ethnic conflict, with a regional focus in Southeast Asia. Her current research focuses on the community’s trust of rebels during longstanding insurgencies, as well as how ordinary citizens interact in environments of fear. Her work has received support from the Weatherhead East Asian Institute. She grew up in Singapore, and holds a BA with honors in Political Science, and a BA in English-Poetry Writing from the University of Virginia. She received her MA and MPhil from Columbia University in 2017 and 2019 respectively.
