Merlin Heidemanns is a Ph.D. student in political science at Columbia University. He specializes in international relations and political methodology. His research primarily investigates variation in peacekeeper performance and its consequences for mission success. His research draws on the large-scale analysis of archival data from UN peacekeeping missions.
Mr. Heidemanns received his B.A. in political science from Freie Universität, Berlin and graduated magna cum laude (“Sehr gut"). In 2018, Mr. Heidemanns interned with the Office of Internal Oversight Services at the UN and introduced basic natural language processing methods into the office’s evaluation procedure.
