Jules Ramirez is a master’s student in the Department of Political Science specializing in political theory. Her research interests include liberalism, totalitarianism, political postmodernism, political ethics, religious ethics, bioethics, feminist care ethics, and healthcare policy.
Prior to studying at Columbia, Ms. Ramirez graduated magna cum laude from Skidmore College with honors in philosophy and political science. She was the 2021 recipient of the Skidmore College Levine Award for excellence in political theory. Her most recent research has focused on ethical vaccine distribution models during the Covid-19 pandemic. She also recently completed her undergraduate thesis on how feminist care ethics can overcome liberalism’s aversion to healthcare expansion.
