Julia María Rubio is a Ph.D. candidate at Columbia University in the City of New York. Her main research interests are in gender and minorities representation, participation and political behavior. In particular, her dissertation aims to identify the mechanisms that explain gender differences in participation and political opinion in Latin America. She is also working in research projects related to minorities representation in the US, indigenous participation, Latin American party systems, and policy impact evaluations.
Ms. Rubio has worked for different governmental institutions in Argentina as a technical assistant and has participated in different research projects in Spanish, Argentine and American Universities. She was also an elected member of the Diversity and Equity Committee of the Department of Political Science at Columbia University and member of the Executive Board of the Students of Color Alliance at Columbia.
