Freja Nielsen is an M.A. Student in Political Science at Columbia University, specializing in international relations. Her primary research interests are centered around national and international security and the foreign policy and diplomatic strategies in this field. Ms. Nielsen grew up south of Copenhagen in Denmark and holds a BSc in Political Science from the University of Copenhagen. For her undergraduate senior thesis, she analyzed changes of American foreign policy towards Iran, under three different presidential administrations, from 2001-2017.
Prior to joining Columbia, Ms. Nielsen held the position as an assistant teacher at the University of Copenhagen, where she assisted Professor Ole Weaver on his course “international relations 2 and 3.” Prior to this she held a position as a project worker at the Danish Accreditation Institution.
