Research Interest

Lizzie Green is an M.A. candidate in the Department of Political Science with specializations in American politics and quantitative analysis. In May 2022, Ms. Green earned a B.A. in political science from Barnard College of Columbia University. There, her senior research utilized national survey data to examine the political and electoral consequences of union decline on members of the white, working class. She plans to continue this line of inquiry throughout her graduate studies.

Prior to joining GSAS, Ms. Green served as a Veteran/Military and Unemployment Caseworker at the U.S. House of Representatives. There, she managed a complex casework portfolio helping constituents to conquer a broad range of issues, from receiving their pandemic unemployment pay to navigating the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare system. She has also served as a research assistant in the Speech Perception Laboratory housed within the Barnard College psychology department, as a teaching assistant in the Barnard College psychology department, and as a summer fellow at the Truman Center for National Policy and Truman National Security Project.
