Edward Hayter is a M.A. Political Science student at Columbia University, specializing in American politics along with methodologies. Having previously achieved his bachelor’s degree from the University of York with first class honors in Politics, he intends to further hone his quantitative research abilities in new areas of study. Mr. Hayter’s research interests include polarization in both institutions and the wider electorate as well as transatlantic institutional comparisons.
Mr. Hayter’s undergraduate dissertation was titled What factors best explain varying levels of politicization on supreme courts? This transatlantic institutional comparison of supreme courts in the UK, USA and Canada proposed a novel typology for understanding court politicization and merited a first-class grade.
