Casey Libonate is a Ph.D student in the Department of Political Science at Columbia University. She specializes in american politics and methods. Her research focuses on environmental and resource policy including energy, public lands, water and mineral rights. Ms. Libonate received a B.A from the University of Pennsylvania in May 2016. She completed an undergraduate honors thesis in the Department of Political Science titled "It's Always Sunny in America: Renewable Energy Policy and the Solar Economy" which focused on the economic policies that allowed for the creation of today's solar energy market. Before coming to Columbia, she worked as a legal recruiter at Jones Day in Washington. D.C.
