Zhaowen GUO is a master student in Political Science at Columbia University whose major subfield is comparative politics. Her research interests focus on contentious politics, ethnic politics and democratization. She has conducted a research exploring the outbreak of ethnic conflicts during the democratization of Indonesia. She has also studied responses of authoritarian regimes to the variation of communal violence in post-Suharto Indonesia.
Before coming to Columbia University, Zhaowen received her B.A. in Political Science from Fudan University, China. She has received a full scholarship from China Scholarship Council in pursuing her master degree.
